Correspondence, affidavits, and other legal papers related to Ben Meyer's work as a lawyer for various labor unions, mainly the Chicago Newspaper Guild in its strike (1935-1940) against the Hearst newspapers in Chicago; for unions on strike against the Goldblatt Bros. (Goldblatt Brothers) department stores, Chicago (1940-1942); and for Ira Silbar and others tried by the State of Illinois for circulating Communist Party nominating petitions in St. David, Fulton County, Illinois (1940-1941).
